Slimline Feline soft foam head base for LARP costumes, mascots and fursuits.
Processing time 1 - 2 weeks before posting
This slimline foam head provides a base to make your own anthro character costume for LARP, fursuiting, cosplay, mascots, and many other performance and role-play based hobbies. As it's made from durable flexible foam, it can survive rough handling from active use like dance or combat performance.
The slimline nature of the base allows for a more proportionate fit, so it is ideal as an accessory for clothed costumes and partial fursuits. It also works for smaller, more fitted fursuits.
Comes cut and hollowed as one piece (lower jaw still attached), clear cut lines are provided if you'd like to separate the lower jaw to make a moving mouth. (How to build a moving jaw)
Eyes
Use your own eyes with this base, or small eyes are available to fit in the sockets similar to the fursuit eyes listed on my store page. (please note, due to the size of these eyes, the painting options are limited to simple designs. please message me if you're not sure about your design)
How to build
Building with one of these bases is similar to building a fursuit or a dino mask by using a strap, balaclava, foam and other popular fursuit-building methods. You can use fur, fleece or even paint to customise the base. if you would like any specific advice, please feel free to message me.

Sizing
The base has an open back, and is flexible, working for all shapes and sizes.
I cut and hollow the base out with a one size fits all model. But if you find it hasn’t been hollowed out enough for your project, the soft nature of the foam makes it very easy to cut to your liking with a sharp knife.
How to build a fursuit head with a pre-made base (Getting ready to fur)
In this Video I will be demonstrating how I build my heads using the parts available in my store.
This version is more how I would build suits I intend to wear for myself as the head in the video is for a cosplay. For professional suits, I have a different process that requires more duct taping and copydex adhesive... however I didn't have any copydex left during the making of this video. Anyway, hopefully this will answer some questions:
- How do I line the base?
- How do I attach it to a balaclava? (Sort of answers it, but that's the footage I lost) 6:52 (Can also be seen in "how to make a moving jaw" tutorial)
- What do I do if I don't want a moving jaw? 7:21
- How do I fit eyes to the base? 8:33
- How do I build the back of the head? 9:57
- How do I attach ears? 14:22
- How easy is it to modify? 23:49
